Are we there yet?
Yes! The Peace House women’s group landed safely in Arusha and have hit the ground running. First stop Sunday morning was a lively church service with Theopista Seuya, PHS headmistress and her family. The service was celebrating women – how appropriate for this group! Then it was on to PHS to have lunch with the students and begin the first activity – a tie dying party! Held on the soccer field in the hot Tanzanian sun, the students (and volunteers) had a great time creating batik pillowcases for their dorm rooms. Big thanks to volunteers Shelley and Carole for all of their planning to bring this project to PHS! Monday the group is on to new jobs like networking computers for the computer lab, helping with English classes and planting flowers…just to name a few. The students and staff have been very welcoming to the volunteers. There is so much love and hope at PHS!
